A Little About Me…
Hello and welcome! I’m Tamim, an Independent (I) candidate for the Town of Herndon Council seat.
Born and raised in Chicago, I carry the values of resilience, hard work, and a deep sense of community—qualities that have shaped who I am today. My journey brought me to the DMV area in 2010, and in 2020, my wife Dena and I chose Herndon as the place to build our lives together. We fell in love with Herndon’s small-town charm, its welcoming community, and its unique position at the crossroads of history and progress.
With over 20 years of experience in real estate planning and development, I’ve had the privilege of working across 38 states, always driven by a commitment to building communities that thrive. I also serve on the boards of several non-profits, where my work focuses on sustainable practices, empowering underserved populations, and strengthening our democracy through voter education.
Why I’m Running…
Herndon is a town with a rich past and an even brighter future. As we stand on the brink of significant growth, I’m running for Council because I believe we can move forward without losing what makes Herndon special. Diversity is a strength, and together, we can create a dynamic, inclusive community where everyone can enjoy everything Herndon has to offer.
With my background in real estate, I’m ready to bring my skills to the table to ensure we finally see the downtown development we’ve been eagerly awaiting. But this campaign is about more than just buildings—it's about building a community where everyone feels they belong. I believe that when we work together, there’s no limit to what we can achieve.
